Assessment of genetic relatedness in roses by DNA fingerprint analysis
نویسنده
چکیده
DNA fingerprint analysis of genetic relatedness between rose genotypes, using humanderived minisatellite probes, correctly reflected relationships within and between categories of rose plants. Nearly identical DNA fingerprint patterns were observed for cultivars 'Dick Koster' and its two sports. A high level of similarity was detected between genotypes of the hybrid tea category while a low level of similarity was detected within the miniature category. Between categories, the highest level of similarity was detected between hybrid tea and floribunda categories, the lowest between hybrid tea and miniature categories. Comparisons of a wild species, Rosa canina, with all cultivated hybrid categories revealed very large differences.

متن کاملStudy of genetic diversities and relatedness of Iranian citrus genotypes using morphological and molecular markers
Having knowledge about genetic relationships among accessions is necessary for developing breeding strategies to produce improved cultivars. In present study, genetic diversity and inter-relationship among 29 genotypes of citrus were comparatively analyzed using morphological and RAPD markers. Significant variability was observed among citrus genotypes for 61 quantitative and qualitative morpho...
متن کاملEvaluation of Genetic Variability in a Breeder Flock of Native Chicken Based on Randomly Amplified Polymorphic DNA Markers
A study was undertaken to evaluate the genetic variation in the 10th generation of a breeder flock of native breed selected for high egg and meat production in native fowls breeding station, Mazandaran, Iran. Venous blood samples were collected from 100 birds of both sexes. The RAPD-PCR technique was applied to generate a DNA fingerprint of individuals. Initially, a total of 20 ten-nucleotide a...

Acipenser stellatus (stellate sturgeon) represents a sturgeon species of great importance for the scientific community and fishermen that has been intensively captured for decades. Besides of overfishing and poaching, their reproduction sites have been destroyed and their natural habitats were affected by pollution. In consequence, wild populations of stellate sturgeon have decreased dramatical...
